His diplomatic career since returning to his native country of Andorra has been meteoric. In fact, it began during his last year in New Haven, when he served as Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Andorra to the U.N. He has risen through the ranks in the past 12 1/2 years, from Minister plenipotentiary, Representative and Chairman of Delegations to European and U.N. Conferences, Ambassador, Chief of Cabinet to the Foreign Minister, and since 2001 he is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, adding in 2005 responsibility for the Culture and Cooperation portfolio as well. Minister Minoves is a gifted pianist, speaks 5 languages plus has a good knowledge of German and Portuguese, and addresses a topic with us with which he is intimately familiar. He will speak to us in English.
