Public Health and National Priorities - Dinner and Panel DiscussionCocktails, Dinner and Panel Discussion "Public Health and National Priorities: Dr. Ignacio Torres Aleman Prof. Juan Díez Nicolás We are very pleased to have two distinguished panelists who will examine the tremendous impact public health decisions are having on each family by particularly looking at implications of Alzheimer’s and other related dementia. The Yale Club is particularly proud that one of our members, Dr Ignacio Torres Aleman, a Yale trained scientist, will present his insights from his research with other primates in seeking clues about the nature and development of dementia.>Based on his ongoing work in his laboratory, Dr Torres will describe new leads in the search for the cause of Alzheimer’s and will share how science is progressing against this pandemic. Professor Juan Díez Nicolas is a distinguished member of the faculty of UAM and has taught and researched actively in the public policy field.>He also has insightful experience as a leader of a major polling firm. Speaking on the subject of “active aging”, Professor Diez will discuss the determinants and consequences of the graying population. As is customary at Yale Club Colloquies, questions will be invited by the audience and the answers and views of all will add to the insights of the evening.. Many of us have family members or friends who suffer from Alzheimer´s and related dementia, so the opportunity to share these experiences will add to the quality of this event.
