Yale Podcasts Now Available

For expats, keeping in touch with what's happening in New Haven can be difficult. It can be especially hard to stay attuned to the vigorous intellectual life that Yale fosters.

A new series of podcasts makes it far easier for expats to stay in touch. They can be downloaded and listened to wherever you are.

The podcasts are from the lectures presented at the Yale Tomorrow campaign launch. The first group was released several months ago; a second group was just recently released.

This newly available group includes talks by:

* Miroslav Volf, Joseph Cumming, and Andrew Saperstein, all from the Yale Center for Faith and Culture, on whether reconciliation between Christians and Muslims is possible
* Sally E. Shaywitz and Bennett A. Shaywitz, professors of pediatrics, on "Dyslexia and Creativity"
* Marie Borroff, Sterling Professor Emeritus of English, on "Defining, Promoting, and Teaching the Humanities at Yale"
* Carolyn Mazure on "Women's Health Research at Yale: Factoring in Gender"

To listen to the podcasts, visit http://www.yale.edu/yaletomorrow/news/audiolibrary to download the MP3 files directly. You also can go to http://www.yale.edu/opa/podcast and click on the "Yale on iTunes" link in the upper right hand corner. At this date, sad to say, Yale does not support other MP3 download software such as Juice or offer the standard orange button so you can add the feed to your RSS aggregrator.

The podcasts will help remind you of the sheer caliber of the intellects walking around the Yale campus, while providing an easy and gentle way to check into the ambitious but necessary Yale Tomorrow fundraising campaign. More information on that campaign can be found at http://www.yale.edu/yaletomorrow/. Yale has also assembled some interesting materials on how a little financial plannning can work to benefit both you and Yale here.

Our thanks to Inge Reichenbach for alerting us to these podcasts.
